Best Tips For the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek 7 Days

  • Mobile and Camera Battery Charging: During the trek, the teahouses/lodges offer charging services; they may charge an extra fee of around 200 to 400 NPR. For backup, you can bring a power bank and extra batteries.

  • ATM and Bank: There are no ATMs or banking services along the trek route. Therefore, you can withdraw or exchange NPR cash in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

  • Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is essential for trekkers, just in case of an emergency during the trek. Ensure that it covers the medical treatment and helicopter rescues.

  • Baggage: During the trek, we will provide one porter for two trekkers. A porter will carry your luggage with a maximum weight limit of 8 to 10 kg per traveler. A porter will not carry more than 20kg of your baggage. You can take the necessary things and the unnecessary trekking gear, and store them in your hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

  • Tipping: Tipping is common in the tourism industry in Nepal. You can tip your guide and porter team after completing a trek. Normally, tipping depends on a number of factors, such as the number of trekking days and group size. We highly recommend tipping your staff a minimum of 100 USD per head. If you are satisfied with guide and porter services, then as you wish.
